Today, we're bringing you two fantastic events that you should attend if you're not traveling over the long weekend (our founders, Katy and Steph, are in fact traveling. They're going to Qinghai to visit the school where your generous donations to TFT HK are being directed, to meet the students who are, thanks to you, receiving more nutritious lunches! We'll have photos and an update on the trip next week.). I happen to be lending my voice to both:
1) This Saturday, June 30th, yoga instructor and philanthropist extraordinaire, Claudia Whitney, has put together a group of ladies to serenade Hong Kongers at Grappa's, in order to bring awareness to the very important plight of victims of sex trafficking in India. Claudia has taken the Global Seva Challenge, through Off the Mat and Into the World, and has pledged to raise US$20,000 for this cause over the course of 2012. The proceeds from your tickets to the June 30th show will help Claudia reach her goal, and provide much needed aid to women and children in need. More about Claudia and her cause here: http://tinyurl.com/7exrzg4
The show starts at 9pm, and I will be playing, along with some other very talented ladies! Please see the Facebook event page and the enclosed flyer for more details, and forward this to anyone and everyone. Hope to see you at what will be both a fun and powerful night of music! There are also some fantastic lucky draw prizes, so don't delay - get your tickets today!

2) Grassroots Pantry, the new and already beloved (it's already getting rave reviews from the likes of Time Out Hong Kong, Crave, and Sassy Hong Kong - talk about local buzz!) bastion of sustainable, healthy eating in Sai Ying Pun, is having a celebration of its grand opening this Sunday, July 1st, from 3pm to 8pm! Thank you to GP for spreading the word about eating consciously (and deliciously!), and for partnering with TFT HK for the month of August. From GP creator Peggy Chan:
Please swing by if you can with your close ones and friends, as we will be serving light snacks and refreshments throughout the event. We will also provide a few fun child-friendly activities, a performance by our lovely volunteer/singer/pianist, Miya Dunets, and a soft screening of one of my favourite documentaries, "Home".Please come out, enjoy yourself, and lend your support to these important causes!
