Happy Handover everyone!

Our partners at Spike's Cellar have just put a new biodynamic wine on their site. When you buy the Château Pontet-Canet Pauillac 2008 on the Spike's site, a portion of the proceeds is donated to TFT HK! Click through the image above to buy this wine. Thank you, and thank you to Spike's Cellar!
Below is a description of the wine from Spike's:
About the wineA special offer of Château Pontet-Canet Pauillac 2008. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this famous biodynamic Bordeaux will go to Table For Two to help provide nutritious school lunches to children in developing countries.Just the mentioning of “Pauillac” makes many wine lovers drool. Often considered to be the mecca of wine, the region is home to three first growth as well as numerous “super second” châteaux. This is the home of Cabernet Sauvignon and although the practice differs depending on the château, some of the most intense and concentrated wines are produced here. One of our favorite Bordeaux from Pauillac is Château Pontet-Canet, a fifth growth château that has in recent years, drastically improved its quality and won the heart of many critics and reached the status of “super second.” The success of Château Pontet-Canet proves that in many ways, the Bordeaux classification is irrelevant, and it is not just the first growth châteaux that are producing amazing wines. One fact that not many people know about Château Pontet-Canet is that it is the first 100% biodynamic Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux. The first biodynamic vintage just so happens to be the current one on offer, the 2008. Essentially, biodynamic wines are produced in an ancient way of farming, where the season, the weather, the changes in the moon and other celestial bodies all matters when determining what actions to take. In addition, biodynamic practice is about respecting the earth, the use of natural farming practices, recycling and using natural products rather than man made ones. These are practices that are supposed to really bring out the terrior and the essence of the grapes. The biodynamic practice started in 2004 with 14 hectares, which was extended to the entire vineyard in 2005 and 2006. The biodynamic practice of Château Pontet-Canet seems to produce result. Although the château always produced good wines, it never quite produced anything that gets the heart going. However, since the 2005 vintage, many critics became enamored with the wine, and quite frankly, so are we. Is it the biodynamic practice or is it just a coincidence with the recent string of strong vintages? You be the judge. Whatever the reason, the wine tastes good to us! The Château Pontet-Canet 2008 is very young right now and requires several hours of decanting before consuming, but it is a beautiful wine. A wine to follow for 30+ years.
